Abstract

For U′r eyes only: A mixed-valence uranium silicate containing three different valence states of uranium has been synthesized under high-temperature, high-pressure hydrothermal conditions. The structure contains uranium silicate sheets with uranophane anion topology that are connected by UO6 octahedra to form a 2D layered structure with Na+ ions within and between the layers.
