Abstract

The reaction between the lithate and MnCl2\nhas given a chloride-bridged high-spin lithium manganate, isolated as shown by an X-ray study\nto contain three-coordinate planar manganese. The\nligand precursor HC(SiMe3)2SiMe2CH2CH2Me2Si(Me3Si)2CH reacts with methylcesium to give a compound\nisolated after recrystallization from benzene as (C6H6)3CsC(SiMe3)2SiMe2CH2CH2Me2Si(Me3Si)2CCs(C6H6)3, in\nwhich benzene solvate molecules show a variety of\nhapticities.
