This article has the objective to present the projects of J. F. Herbart, John Dewey and Paulo Freire with respect to the philosophy of the education. Faraway from to drain the discussion and to include all the complexity of the theme, this article intends to demonstrate how these theories, even with great differences space-temporal, possess similarities in several aspects, mainly in the proposal o promoting, through the education, a fairer society.
