Cathode Potentials during the Electrodeposition of Nickel-Molybdenum Alloys from Ammoniacal Citrate Solutions

Abstract

硫酸ニッケル-モリブデン酸カリウム-クエン酸カリウム型のアンモニア性合金浴からのニッケル・モリブデン共電着における陰極電位Ek,金属放電電位Ed,平衡電位Eeqを,それぞれpH8~11.5の範囲で直接法により測定し,これらの値から合金電着の活性化過電圧(Ed-Eeq),分極電圧(Ek-Ed)を算出してpHとの関係を求めた。さらに,pH9.8のナトリウム,リチウム,カリウムおよびアンモニウム塩浴におけるMo6+濃度との関係を検討した。陰極電位および金属放電電位はpH10~10.5付近で極小となり,また,pH一定の9.8のナトリウム,リチウムならびにカリウム塩浴においては,そのMo6+:Ni2+のモル比が,それぞれ,1:3,1:3,2:3のときに極小となることが認められたが,これは活性化過電圧の減少に起因することが判明した。これらの結果から,合金電着におけるpH-陰極電流効率の関係と陽イオンの影響が説明された。
