Abstract

Tetramethylarsonium-, as well as tetramethylstibonium-monomethyltrichloroindate crystallizes in the monoclinic space-group Pc with two formula units in the cell. In both structures we found isolated (CH 3 )4M + - and (CH 3 )InCl 3 - - tetrahedra (M = As, Sb), from which the anionic one in markedly distorted. The distances between these isolated tetrahedral cations and anions are not equal. The tetrahedrical cations and anions form double-layers.
