Abstract

Abstract N2H6[Mo2O4(C2O 4)2(H 2O)2]. 4H2O has been prepared by reducing a solution of MoO3 in oxalic acid with N2H6C2O4. Metathesis with tetramethyl ammonium chloride gives [Me4N]2[Mo2O4(c2O4)2(H2O)2].4H2O. The mixed ligand complexes, viz., M4[Mo2O4 (C2O4)2F2] (M = Rb and Cs) have been obtained by crystallising solutions of the hydrazinium compound and the corresponding alkali metal fluoride. All the complexes are very weakly paramagnetic. The i.r. and the electronic spectra show the characteristic features of complexes containing the Mo2O+2 4 moiety.
