Millimetre wave phase reversal integrated optical modulator in fin line

Abstract

A new millimetre wave Ti: LiNbO3 optical modulator is demonstrated from 26–40 GHz. Phase modulation of 60°/W½ is observed at 30GHz. The modulator is constructed in a fin line geometry. Detailed characterisation of the microwave transmission line is accomplished by application of the method of lines.
