Abstract

The title structure, C2H10N22+.2Na(+).C2H4O7P24-.4H(2)O or (NH3CH2CH2NH3)Na-2(hedp).4H(2)O (SDP-2) (hedp=1-hydroxyethylidenediphosphonate), contains one-dimensional anionic sodium-hedp chains which are connected by N-H...O and O-H...O hydrogen bonds. There are two crystallographically independent P atom environments.
