Abstract

Coffee was first introduced to Indonesia in the 16th century through colonialism activities carried out by the Dutch Colonial Government. The development of coffee began to increase since the forced planting period, during that period coffee cultivation extended to small islands in Indonesia, including Bali. In Bali, coffee gets special treatment, especially in terms of traditions and religious activities. Based on the research objectives, a data collection process was carried out through literature review, both from books, scientific journals and news articles. Apart from that, data collection was also carried out by applying observation and documentation methods to the research objects. The data was then processed using descriptive-qualitative analysis, so that this research prioritizes descriptions of the phenomena obtained during the research. Religious theories are also used to help the framework of thinking. The results of this research will provide an overview of the religious activities carried out by the Hindu community in Bali and their relationship to coffee, both in the form of places of worship, worship ceremonies and media of worship.
