Clock Hill Climbing Algorithm

Abstract

In this paper we present an algorithm for finding local peaks. It is thought to\nrecover the paths to reach local peaks and their structure, rather than the peaks\nor end points themselves which are easily found by other mechanisms.\nApplications for this algorithm are diverse and modifications can be made to\nsuit requirements. For example it can be used to find paths on topographic\nmaps, weighted maps, find structures on electrical or imaging recording from\nneurons ([1], [2]), image pre-processing, data exploration, etc.\nAny data can be transformed/adapted into a 2D map with values and run\nthis algorithm on it.
