Spacer Cations Dictate Photoinduced Phase Segregation\nin 2D Mixed Halide Perovskites

Abstract

The\nspacer cation in two-dimensional (2D) Ruddlesden–Popper\nlead halide perovskites dictates photoinduced phase segregation. Halide\nion segregation under steady-state irradiation of single-layer (<i>n</i> = 1) 2D perovskites is seen when butylammonium (BA) is\nused as the spacer cation, whereas it is essentially absent when BA\nis replaced with phenethylammonium (PEA).
