When discussing dukhan, usually the mind will immediately focus on smoke, because dukhan literally means smoke. However, most people do not fully understand what smoke (ad-dukhan) actually looks like. The Dukhan in question is not just ordinary smoke that appears in a certain location or at a certain time. The dukhan referred to here refers to smoke which has a very big impact. This research focuses on the interpretation of dukhan contained in Classical Tafsir and Tafsir Ilmu. This research is library research-based research with a starting point on interpretation within the framework of the perspective of Classical Tafsir and Scientific Tafsir which underlies dukhan in the Al-Qur'an. To research dukhan in the Qur'an using the thematic method (maudhu'i). The findings from this research show that the differences and similarities in the interpretation of Classical Tafsir and Scientific Tafsir are as follows: Differences, in terms of interpretive content and interpretive style. Similarities, both have similarities in interpreting because they are based on the use of the same method, namely the tahlili method.
