Nosocomial comes from the Greek, from the word nosos which means disease and komeo which means to care. Nosocomial means a place to treat/hospital. So nosocomial infection can be interpreted as an infection that is acquired or occurs in a hospital. Nosocomial infection is currently one of the causes of increasing morbidity and mortality in hospitals, so that it can become a new health problem, both in developing and developed countries. This type of research is quantitative correlational (correlational studies). The population is 53 respondents and all of them are used as research samples as many as 53 respondents (total sampling). The results of the study using the Wilcxon signed rank test obtained p-value = 0.001 (p <0.05), it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of nurses about infection prevention and control (PPI) and nosocomial infections. It is hoped that all pure staff of memorial hospital, especially nurses, will increase knowledge in the field of Infection Control and Prevention (PPI) to minimize the incidence of nosocomial infections both through training and so on.
