Impactful Nursing Faculty and Student Mentoring

Abstract

This chapter explores the impact of mentoring on the nursing profession within the academic settings. It defines various mentoring models and illustrates their application to support new faculty members and nursing students. Challenges to academic nurse mentoring are discussed along with possible solutions. By examining these practices within the nursing literature, the chapter highlights how effective mentoring can play a crucial role in retaining and developing nurse educators, nursing students, and school nurses.
