The objective of the research was to construct a didactic strategy to develop writing and reading skills in the English language, through the use of the learning styles proposed in the Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) model of Blander and Grinder. A mixed model of research was proposed, with an educational action research design and a quasi-experimental approach. In the research participated 17 eighth-grade students of a private institution in the municipality of Socorro, Santander. The results obtained according to the Wilcoxon test statistical analysis indicated that the use of the didactic strategy in the student population allowed a significant increase in the development of writing and reading skills in the language, especially in those students with kinesthetic styles. In summary, the deconstruction, reconstruction, and validation of the practical pedagogical research, allow the development of a reflexive process of the English language teaching through the students ‘learning styles.
