Abstract

The Obscure Object of Magnetoception aims to open up a speculative and poetic field with the possibility of including a new cognitive sense in the artistic inventory: magnetic perception.Through a contextualization of the theme and a brief overview of artists who operate under the aegis of magnetism, the article presents the recent discoveries in the area of biophysics on magnetoception in humans, which allow the poetic research Narrativa de Campo Escuro, by Ío, to experiment with the development of instruments to awaken this sense in the creation of their artworks.
