半导体基全光太赫兹空间调制器研究进展

Abstract

太赫兹(THz)技术在下一代移动通信技术、雷达成像技术、物质波谱识别、大气遥感和射电天文学等领域有着广泛的应用前景,其中,能够主动调控太赫兹波幅度、相位和频率等特性的调控器件已成为影响太赫兹技术实际应用的关键器件之一。空间光太赫兹调制器(STM)作为一种典型的空间型波前调控器件,在波束偏转、波束扫描、特殊波束赋形,甚至相控阵技术等方面有着重要的应用。总结、分析和归纳了近年来电控STM和光控STM的主要研究进展,重点介绍了实现技术更简单、工艺成本更低的半导体基全光STM。详细总结了这种全光STM的调制机制和计算模型,系统总结了基于全光STM实现的太赫兹功能器件以及在太赫兹成像技术中的最新研究进展,讨论了全光STM存在的局限,并针对改善调制效率、降低器件插入损耗、提高激光利用率等方面提出多种新型器件结构。最后,对全光STM未来的发展趋势进行了展望。
