Abstract

Objective: to report the experience of implementing food and nutritional education actions in a public early childhood education institution in the city of Santa Cruz/RN.Methodology: EAN instructions were carried out by Nutrition course students at a CMEI in the city of Santa Cruz/RN, in a "Stage V" class with 22 students, of which there were 4 visits (1 diagnosis and 3 interventions). To plan the actions, we sought to associate it with the pedagogical planning carried out by the class teacher and also with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC).Results and Discussion: within this process of instructions on EAN, it was possible to identify, mainly, the non-accessibility of fruits and the frequent consumption of ultra-processed foods by children. Thus, it was possible to work and coordinate activities with children in accordance with BNCC competencies, where we sought to coordinate manual skills, expression of ideas, desires and feelings about their experiences, through drawings, recording observations and multiple languages. With this, it was explained that the children loved the content and interacted actively during the activities and with the mediators. It is also opportune to disagree about the perceptions of the mediators through the planning of EAN actions and disciplines, which sought to share scientific knowledge in a light way and in a language accessible to children's understanding, in addition to adding to the construction of the professional nutritionist, as it allows the development of positive attributes, such as strengthening the knowledge acquired about EAN.Final Considerations: it is important to highlight that food is formed from eating behaviors that the individual experiences and these behaviors, when repeated, become habits, therefore, the importance of EAN as an instrument for sharing information and eating practices in different sectors and environments.
