Abstract

We propose two models of dual-polarized electromagnetic absorbers based on reflective metagratings, which can show good absorption features for both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarizations. Both absorbing structures are composed of a cross-shaped patterned layer placed on a grounded dielectric substrate. When the patterned layer is made of an indium tin oxide (ITO) film, a broadband response is obtained while a narrowband response is observed when the patterns are made of copper. Full-wave simulations are performed to validate the performances of the proposed structures.
