Dual band Slot Antenna for mm Wave Wireless Communication

Abstract

This paper presents dualband antennas for 4G wireless communication systems operating at mm wave frequency range. Three antenna configurations have been designed and simulated to resonate at 28GHz and 38GHz frequencies. Each of the three antennas are designed on an FR4 Epoxy substrate of size $10\times 10\times 0.8m \mathrm{m}^{3}$ comprising of an elliptical slot. Each antenna has patch of different shape such as circle, modified circle, elliptical ring inserted into the elliptical slot etched on the top surface of the substrate. The antenna configurations are designed in EM simulation software High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and the results are compared interms of reflection coefficient, gain, impedance bandwidth and radiation pattern characteristics.
