IoT devices and systems have transformed the way people work. Using wireless technology, data can be sent across the internet and over long distances in a couple of minutes with minimal data loss. IoT allows to link the embedded systems with other systems, enabling more functionality and making laborious procedures more smoother and efficient. The connected appliances range from simple household devices to big industrial machinery. Experts predict that with more than 7 billion linked IoT devices in use now, this figure will climb to 10 billion by 2020 and 22 billion by 2025. The goal of this project is to create a cold storage management system that will include a monitoring system that monitors the parameters, a security authentication system to prevent misappropriation and pilferage, and a temperature control system in case of cooling failure. It is paired with a cleaning robot to ensure that the storage is free of unwanted impurities. Such a system would offer a much-needed boost to India's farming industry, which is currently plagued by several problems. It will enable remote monitoring, which will increase efficiency, as well as the construction of a supply chain system to allow for smooth delivery of agricultural goods, long-term storage in the event of a disaster, and safe and secure administration of contents. As a proof of concept, the system was simulated using a small model to specify and monitor the operation of all devices.
