Biphasic core–shell magnetic materials have a major focus in emerging materials because of their unique properties arising from the coalescence of core and shell material, geometry, and design due to their customized dimensions and compositions, one of which forms the shell on the surface of the other. The shell layer protects the core from oxidation and corrosion, making such structures not only useful for investigating proximity effects but also for structure stabilizing. Furthermore, the shell layer serves as a platform for surface alteration and operationalization, including exchange coupling between the core and the shell, which can result in precisely tailored materials for a variety of magnetic applications. This chapter elucidates the classification, synthesis, properties, structural mechanism, and applications of magnetic core–shell nanostructures.
