Abstract

Nanohybrid multiferroic core-shell structures of MgFe2O4@BaTiO3 with magnetic core and ferroelectric shell possessing bifunctional properties were synthesized. The hybrid composite, with MgFe2O4 core of smaller diameter, exhibited bifunctional properties including superparamagnetism with a blocking temperature near 50K and ferroelectricity at ambient conditions. The multiferroic MgFe2O4@BaTiO3 core-shell sample exhibit typical magnetic field control of electric properties demonstrated by the magnetoelectric coupling.
