A Millimeter Wave Band Wide-band Wide Angle 2-D Scanning End-fire Antenna Array

Abstract

This paper presents a wide band wide angle 2two dimension scanning end fire antenna array. The proposed antenna array consists of $8\times 8$ Yagi antennas fed by substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). The Yagi antenna is composed of a radiation part and a metal boundary part. Due to the metal boundary of the antenna element, when the beam of the proposed antenna array scan in the XOZ plane, YOZ plane and D-plane (Diagonal plane), the fluctuation value of beam gain within the range of scanning angle (0°, 60°) can only be 2.3dB. Moreover, the maximum gain of the proposed antenna array is greater than 22.5dBi in the range of 26-30GHz.
