The software used in a microprocessor-based interactive image-processing system is described. Techniques suitable for the analysis of such software are outlined and the effect of processing time is considered. The sytem hardware and operating-system software are briefly reviewed and the design of the interactive software is described. Processing times and the sizes of routines written in Intel 8080 microprocessor assembly language are given.
