The cavity-model solution of the input impedance of a slot-coupled cylindrical-circular microstrip patch antenna is presented. The theoretical results are compared with measurements, and the accuracy of the cavity-model analysis is discussed. Effects of the cylinder size and the coupling slot length on the input impedance of the circular microstrip patch antenna are analyzed. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
