Abstract

This essay seeks to discuss the birth of psychology as a field of knowledge, addressing the dynamics of the development of the scientific method, from the Renaissance onwards. Through bibliographical research, we try to show how this method, at first, ends up being characterized by a certain mechanism, which resulted in positivist theoretical formulations. It also shows how the influence of dialectical materialism in this process, discussing its impacts on the educational process.
