Angular Radial Sheet Beam Extended Interaction Oscillator at W-band

Abstract

A W-band angular radial extended interaction oscillator (AREIO) based on angular radial multigap resonant cavity is proposed. The proposed AREIO employs an angular radial divergent sheet electron beam with the beam current of 7A. The particle-in-cell method is used to find out the beam wave interaction performance. When the operation voltage is set to 22 kV, the AREIO has a maximum peak output power of 13.6 kW at the frequency of 94 GHz, corresponding an electron efficiency of 9.16%. By adjusting the operation voltage from 19.6 kV-22.4 kV, the 3-dB bandwidth of the device is about 250 MHz.
