Triple-band Notched Ultra-Wideband Antenna With Bluetooth Support

Abstract

In this paper, a new design of triple band notched at Wi-MAX frequency band, WLAN band and X-band for FCC ultra wide band planar antenna is proposed. The design composed of a rectangular monopole antenna with three defected slits at the top and merged with three steps with different widths to connect with the main feeding line. An open trapezoidal slot is etched at the top of the ground plane. Two etched slots on the patch antenna look like U-shaped used to reject the WLAN operating band. Two folded C-shaped band stop filter placed on both sides of the feeding line in order to prevent the Wi-MAX spectrum frequency. Two electromagnetic band gap structures are located on the both sides of the feeding line to prevent the X-band frequency. Besides that, the proposed design operates at the Bluetooth frequency. The UWB design occupies the spectrum band from 2.06 GHz to 16 GHz except at the three notch bands.
