Democracia y constitucionalismo

Abstract

Democracy and constitutionalism are institutions that have been opposed to each other from their concept roots and historic origins. The former is seen as a possibility for popular participation in the decisions made regarding public matters, while the latter as control over public issues, including popular participation. In this article, we inquire into the concept aspects of this tension, and attempt to prove that both can be agreeable concepts for the civic and contemporary political endeavors
