Li2CO3-free Li–O2/CO2 battery with peroxide discharge product

Abstract

We demonstrate that a Li–O2/CO2 battery cycles via formation of peroxodicarbonate (C2O62−) but not Li2CO3, and operates with a low charge potential of 3.5 V.
