Abstract

The title ternary mixed-ligand chromium(III) complex, [Cr(C 5 H 7 O 2 )(C 2 O 4 )(C 12 H 8 N 2 )]·3H 2 O, features a distorted octahedral geometry completed by three different bidentate chelating ligands, viz . 1,10-phenanthroline, acetylacetonate and oxalate. Complex molecules are linked by π–π stacking interactions between phenanthroline rings, and C—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional structure.
