The measurement of attitudes becomes important to the extent that these have two connotations, as an element that contributes to learning and the effect thereof. The purpose of this research was to build the scale for measuring attitudes toward research in the different academic settings: administration, faculty, undergraduate and postgraduate students and leavers. The EACIN scale is Likert type, consists of 34 items, it was applied to 190 participants from different universities in Bogota (Colombia). The content validity was evaluated by expert judges and reliability was assessed by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which gave a value of 0.854, which indicates that the scale has good internal consistency. It is concluded that the scale can be used to measure attitudes towards research in the academic population: administrative, academic, faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and leavers.
