Liquid material's complex permittivity measurement using seamless dielectric tube and rectangular waveguide

Abstract

A new waveguide-based method is proposed to measure the complex permittivity of liquid materials such as phantom liquids. It is based on S-parameter measurement of a rectangular waveguide pierced with a dielectric tube. The seamless dielectric tube has been preferred and we developed an inverse calculation procedure. The experiment is performed on the 900 MHz PDC frequency of Japan. A good agreement with reference values are obtained.
