Abstract

In this paper, a novel circular patch Antenna for Multi band applications with corner-shaped ground plane has been mentioned. The antenna is fed by use of microstrip line feeding technique and expands on FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate with the total thickness of 1.57 mm and the dimensions of 30 mm x 30 mm. The resonant modes are achieved by employing a hexagon slot and a metamaterial inspired split ring structure. In this paper the operating bandwidth of the proposed antenna (notched band) is in the range of 2.2 GHz to 5.1 GHz, 6.4 GHz to 8.5 GHz and 10.2 GHz to 11.5 GHz. The proposed antenna is analyzed by Ansoft HFSS and successfully achieved return loss, better radiation pattern with proper gain across the operating bands.
