Rigid-Foldable Thick Origami

Abstract

Rigid-foldable origami (or rigid origami) is a piecewise linear origami that is continuously transformable along its folds without deformation by bending or folding of any facet. Therefore, rigid origami can realize a deployment mechanism using stiff panels and hinges, which has advantages for various engineering purposes, especially for designs of kinetic architecture.
