Abstract

Pyroelectric properties of (Pb, Ca) [(Co 1/2 W 1/2 )]TiO 3 ceramics have been studied by changing the Ca concentration. With an increase in Ca concentration, the pyroelectric coefficient P and figure of merit F v increased and reached 4.43×10 -8 C cm -20 C -1 , and 0.61×10 -10 C cmJ -1 , respectively. Pyroelectric characteristics have been improved to twice the values for the PbTiO 3 ceramics. The maximum responsivity R v value versus chopping frequency is obtained in a less than 1 Hz frequency range. Responsivity R v and specific detectivity D * are 780 V/W, and 1.1×10 8 cm √Hz/W at 1 Hz, respectively. The sensor is applicable for use as a human body sensor.
