Abstract

Lead titanate zirconate ceramics with the composition PbTixZr1-xO3 (x = 0.07) modified by additions of Nb2O5, Fe2O3 and by three different oxides of uranium were hot pressed. The effects of each additive on the pyroelectric properties are discussed. Pyroelectric coefficients as high as 3.9 × 10-8 C cm-2 °C-1 and relative permittivities as low as 180 were achieved.
