Abstract

A compact dual band-notched ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is designed. A second-order notched band with uniform performance for 5.15-5.825 GHz is achieved, which is because the interplay between a 1/3 λ open-end slot and a 1/2 λ parasitic strip. A 1/4 λ open-end slot is also applied for the 3.3-3.7 GHz reject band. The two slots connected together at their open end, and that can help to get the whole UWB band. A bandwidth with |S11| ≤-10 dB, |S21| ≤-17 dB and frequency ranged from 3.1 to 10.9GHz, excluding the two rejected bands, is achieved.
