Plasmonic photovoltaics: near-field enhancement and internal photoemission

Abstract

Plasmonic scattering and light trapping in solar cells is well understood, but near-field enhancement and plasmon-induced charge separation present new opportunities. I will review these mechanisms and present theoretical results describing opportunities and limitations.
