Stretchable Electronics: Stretchable and Conformable Oxide Thin‐Film Electronics (Adv. Electron. Mater. 3/2015)

Abstract

In article number 1400038, Niko Münzenreider and co‐workers present stretchable oxide electronics that combine the mechanical properties of deformable elastomers and the electronic functionality of high‐performance, thin‐film devices based on oxide semiconductors. When exposed to >200% strain, the functionality of devices and circuits is ensured by composite substrates with stiff islands or wavy geometries for accordion‐like electronics. This has the potential for soft and biocompatible electronic systems, such as electronic skins.
