Packet mobile radio networks with shadowing outage intervals

Abstract

An analytical model for the characterization of statistics of dropped packet sequences due to shadowing outage intervals is presented for packet mobile radio networks. For a PRMA scheme, performance results are evaluated with two voice sources. Performance sensitivity to both buffer size and terminal mobile speed is also analysed.
