Performance analysis of packet mobile radio networks with diversity

Abstract

In this paper the effects of diversity reception on the statistics of dropped packets sequences in packet mobile radio networks are investigated. In a log-normal shadowing environment, it is seen that the presence of a diversity link determines a remarkable reduction of the outage occurrence, while the outage duration does not significantly decrease. Finally, an appreciable performance improvement in terms of dropped packets sequences is observed.
