Sensing properties of plasmonic ring resonators

Abstract

Waveguide coupled Metal-Insulator-Metal plasmonic ring resonators are highly sensitive devices. We numerically investigate the effect of periodic grating on the resonant modes of the device. We also investigate the sensitivity of the ring resonator modes to the changes in the refractive index of the insulator and outside the ring and measure its sensitivity.
