Disparity estimation using fractional dual tree complex wavelet transform

Abstract

In this paper, a novel phase based approach using fractional dual tree complex wavelet transform (FrDT-CWT) is proposed for computing disparity flow from a given sequence of images. In the proposed approach, the complex valued function of an image using FrFT is obtained and phases are computed from the complex analytic signal. Disparity is then estimated as the optical flow using the phase difference method. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is carried out by different experiments on synthetic as well as on realistic image sequences.
