Video compression using dual tree complex wavelet transform

Abstract

The main concern of this paper is wavelet-based video compression schemes. In this paper the performance of two wavelet-based video compression schemes are investigated. Initial results indicate that the dual tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT) yields improved PSNR compared to those obtained from discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and discrete cosine transform (DCT).
