Abstract

The synthesis and characterisation of [M(AA)2X2]+(M = Rh, Ir; AA = 1,10-phenanthroline, 2,2′-bipyridyl; X = Cl, Br) are described. Chemical and physical properties are outlined, and particular attention is given to their structures which are shown to have a cis-configuration.
