Abstract

Abstract Alkylation of the dianion of 3‐(phenylsulfinyl) propanol with [ 13 C] iodomethane and subsequent reductive fission of the sulfoxides gave [4‐ 13 C] butanol that was oxidized to give [4‐ 13 C] butanoic acid.
