White light emitting from Ba<inf>2</inf>MgSi<inf>2</inf>O<inf>7</inf>:Ce<sup>3&#x002B;</sup>, Tb<sup>3&#x002B;</sup> phosphor

Abstract

Ba 2 MgSi 2 O 7 :xCe 3+ , yTb 3+ was synthesized by solid-state-reaction and X-ray powder diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of it. It has five emission bands peaking at 390 nm, 480 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 615 nm. White-light-emitting was obtained by mixing the five emissions.
