Abstract Complexes VO(Hapabth)2SO4, M(Hapabth)2Cl2 and M(apabth)2 [M = OV(IV), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), Hapabth = 2-acetylpyridine-2-aminobenzo-phenone-2-thenoylhydrazone and apabth = deprotonato hydrazone] have been prepared. Elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic and photoacoustic, e.s.r., i.r. and n.m.r. spectral studies have been used to investigate the structure and bonding of the complexes. X-ray powder diffraction gives shape and size of unit cell of copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes.
